Open 24/7 and usually on site within about 2 hours in Barnegat Township.
Barnegat Township stretches about 40 square miles, from the edge of Barnegat Bay west into the Pine Barrens. The Garden State Parkway runs through the middle of the township and Route 9 runs along the east side. Its 24,296 residents (2020 census) live in a mix of places: the old bay village, newer subdivisions and large adult communities. The name traces back to Dutch explorers who mapped the bay and inlet in 1614. MaxClean Restoration covers all of Barnegat, 24/7.
Areas of Barnegat we cover
Barnegat village along Route 9, East Bay Avenue and Bayshore Drive down to the bay, Lower Dock and Upper Dock, Cedar Bridge, Howardsville and the Barnegat side of Ocean Acres. We also cover the 55-and-over communities, including Four Seasons at Mirage, Heritage Point and Pheasant Run. The township sits between Lacey Township to the north and Stafford Township to the south. Little Egg Harbor is just past Stafford, and we serve all three.
What damages Barnegat homes
Bay flooding east of Route 9. The low streets near the bay take water during nor'easters and strong south winds. Flood maps place parts of the East Bay Avenue area in high-risk flood zones. In January 2016, a storm pushed enough water in that residents were told to evacuate the area between the municipal bathing beach and the East Bay Avenue bridge. Bay water carries silt and salt, so flooded insulation, drywall and carpet generally have to come out.
Slab homes in adult communities. Many homes in the 55-and-over communities are single-story houses built on slabs. A leaking water heater, ice-maker line or toilet supply can spread under the flooring through several rooms before anyone notices. Our technicians find where the water went with meters and a thermal camera, then dry the slab and walls instead of just the carpet.
Winters away. Plenty of Barnegat owners spend part of the winter somewhere warmer. A pipe that freezes in an empty house can leak for days. Someone 18 or older needs to let our technicians in on the first visit. After that, we can supply a key box and send the owner photos as the drying moves along.
Fire, smoke and puff-backs. Kitchen fires, dryer fires and oil burner puff-backs leave soot well beyond the room where they started. Fire is usually covered under most homeowner policies, and early cleaning limits the odor and staining.

What to expect from our team
Barnegat is a longer drive than our Monmouth County towns, so the first phone call does extra work. We'll tell you how to shut off the water or power safely, what to move and what to photograph while we're on the way. Once our technicians arrive, they extract the water, set up drying equipment and record moisture readings in every affected room. We come back to check readings until the house is dry. After that, our own team handles the repairs. See examples on our before-and-after page.
Insurance
We send the invoice to your insurance carrier on your behalf, but the invoice is still the homeowner's responsibility. That includes your deductible and anything your carrier doesn't pay.
In New Jersey, homeowners usually have the right to choose their own restoration contractor. We document the work carefully for you and your adjuster, but policies vary, so check your policy for what it covers. For homes near the bay, rising water from a storm is covered under flood insurance, not your homeowners policy. A burst pipe inside the house is generally handled under homeowners. Guides for Barnegat homeowners
Sewage Backup & Septic Overflow Cleanup in Barnegat Township
Homes east of Route 9 sit close to the bay, and the adult communities are mostly slab homes where a backup spreads across finished floors instead of a basement. A root-filled lateral, a collapsed pipe or an overloaded street line can all send sewage back through a floor drain, tub or toilet. If your home is on septic, a full tank or saturated drain field can push wastewater back into the house the same way.
Sewage carries bacteria and viruses, so keep kids and pets away, stop using water in the house, and don't try to dry it with a shop vac and fans. Call 732-539-2942 24/7.
We extract the waste, cut out contaminated drywall, insulation and flooring, disinfect every surface it touched and dry the framing, checking readings each day until it's dry. See our sewage cleanup page for the full process. Policies vary, and sewer or septic backup coverage is often a separate endorsement, so check your policy.

Our street floods from the bay a few times a year. Can you dry out the house after a storm? Yes. We remove the water and mud, take out wet materials that can't be saved, clean and treat the surfaces, then dry the structure. You get photos and moisture logs for your flood claim.
My parents live in an adult community and had a leak. Can you work with the HOA? Yes. We coordinate with community management on access and the paperwork. We can also keep family members who live elsewhere updated.
